1 hard to find ca. 1892 (Meiji 25) to 1899 (Meiji 32) Type 25 Japanese Cavalry Sword available. This sword would make an important addition to any collection.
Above are photos from Jim Dawson's book Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945, Cyclopedia Edition pages 116 & 117 on the Type 25 Cavalry sword. The brass and wood handle Type 25 sword was authorized for just 8 years, then was replaced by the steel and wood handle Type 32 Cavalry sword.
This sword measures 35 7/8” overall.
This sword is in nice condition. The wood grip has no cracks or chips. The blade edge has occasional minor nicks. The leather finger loop on the grip is still intact—very hard to find on a 123 to 130 year old sword.
