An elegant cobalt blue Bohemian art glass goblet, attributed to Moser, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The goblet is made in deep cobalt blue glass with a faceted body and a shaped scalloped foot. It is richly decorated with gilded foliate and geometric ornament, creating a refined contrast between the dark blue glass and the gold decoration. The form, colour and ornamental treatment are characteristic of high-quality Bohemian luxury glass in the Moser taste.
Moser, founded in Karlovy Vary in 1857, became one of the most celebrated Bohemian glassmakers, known for richly coloured glass, precise cutting, gilding and finely executed decorative work. This goblet is attributed to Moser or to a closely related Bohemian workshop working in the Moser style.
