An elegant cobalt blue Bohemian art glass beaker, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The beaker has a waisted faceted form and is executed in deep cobalt blue glass. The surface is richly decorated with gilded cartouches, ornamental scrollwork and finely painted enamel floral decoration. The contrast of dark blue glass, gold ornament and soft enamel colours gives the piece a refined and luxurious appearance.
The style is characteristic of fine Bohemian decorative glass of the period and is close to pieces produced in the Moser taste. Moser and related Bohemian workshops were known for high-quality coloured glass, precise faceting, gilding and delicate enamel painting.
