An attractive decorative halberd inspired by European historical polearms, featuring an elaborately ornamented metal head and a richly detailed shaft.
The head combines a broad crescent-shaped axe blade with a long, curved rear spike and a pointed decorative finial above.
The axe blade is particularly elaborate, featuring circular portrait medallions, a central openwork rosette and engraved floral and geometric ornamentation. Small pierced openings follow the curved outer edge, adding further decorative detail.
The central socket is decorated with a relief portrait, while the shaft features longitudinal ribs, foliate ornamentation and shaped decorative elements.
The lower section is finished with a spiral-patterned grip and an ornamental terminal.
The entire piece has a dark brown patinated surface, giving it the appearance of historical decorative metalwork.
An interesting collectible object suitable for an exhibition of European historical arms or a traditional interior.
The exact country and period of manufacture have not been established.
