Description
An attractive vintage wine bottle basket dating from the 20th century, crafted from finely interwoven silver-tone metal wire.
The basket features an elongated oval form designed to accommodate a wine bottle in a reclining position. Its lower section is constructed with closely spaced horizontal wire weaving, providing a dense and decorative structure.
The upper section consists of more widely spaced vertical wires, creating an airy openwork appearance. The gently undulating rim is finished with several intertwined strands of wire, giving the basket an elegant, flowing silhouette.
A distinctive feature is the suspended carrying handle, composed of twisted and braided metal chains attached to the upper rim at several points.
The combination of intricate wirework, balanced proportions and practical design makes this an appealing example of 20th-century decorative tableware. Suitable for displaying or serving a wine bottle, it also makes an attractive decorative accessory for a dining room, wine cellar or vintage interior.
