Description

Plate by the Kornilov Brothers Manufactory, St Petersburg, Second Half of the 19th Century.

An elegant round porcelain plate decorated with hand-painted bouquets of garden flowers, including violets, dahlias and roses, rendered in a refined painterly manner. A small floral wreath decorates the centre, while the rim is highlighted with a delicate gold border, partially preserved.

The plate belongs to the production of the Kornilov Brothers Manufactory in St Petersburg, one of the notable Russian porcelain manufactories of the 19th century. Kornilov porcelain was appreciated for its fine white body and careful decorative work. The factory’s pieces were sought after in refined Russian interiors and private households.
