Bronze Equestrian Figure Amazone after Paul Troubetzkoy.
A finely modelled bronze equestrian sculpture based on a model by Paul Troubetzkoy, titled Amazone, depicting Miss Ada Nathan Berra seated on horseback. The rider is shown in an elegant upright pose, wearing a hat and fitted riding dress, while the horse is represented standing calmly with its head lowered.
The work reflects Troubetzkoy’s characteristic impressionistic modelling, with lively, irregular surfaces, expressive forms and a strong sense of movement despite the restrained pose. The bronze has a dark patinated surface with lighter high points caused by rubbing and age.
The sculpture is signed on the base. The present example is described as based on a model by Paul Troubetzkoy; the exact casting period and foundry are not confirmed.
