Description

Porcelain Plate by the Kornilov Brothers Manufactory, St Petersburg, Second Half of the 19th Century.

An elegant round porcelain plate decorated with hand-painted bouquets of garden flowers, including violets, dahlias and roses, executed in a refined painterly manner. The centre of the plate is decorated with a small floral wreath, while the rim is highlighted with a delicate gilded border, partially preserved.

The plate belongs to the production of the Kornilov Brothers Manufactory in St Petersburg, one of the notable Russian porcelain manufactories of the 19th century. Kornilov porcelain was appreciated for its fine white porcelain body and careful decorative work. Pieces from the factory were sought after in refined Russian interiors and private households.
