Rare WWII Japanese general grade court sword.  This sword is published in Jim Dawsons  cyclopedia-book  of "Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945". The hilt is metal with a tortoise shell grip indicating a higher general-grade rank.(Court and Diplomatic Corps Swords).
