A rare Type 35 or model 1902 bayonet. This bayonet was made in very limited numbers for the Japanese Navy. Many rifles were exported to Russia and Asian countries where these were lost or destroyed in battles. This bayonet was used by Imperial Russia, it does not have any Russian markings but came from the Russian Western front area. The bayonet differs from the usual Type 30 bayonets by having a latch on the grip to secure it in the scabbard. Although on almost all bayonets I have expected this system is not working properly. The bayonet is complete with the scabbard and frog. The pommel is marked with the correct Type 35 number which differs from the Type 30 numbering. The scabbard is a correct Type 35 and the frog has naval markings, which is ultra-rare. Condition is fair with a lot of usage traces and some oxidation traces.
