A Rare Russian hunting knife Zlatoust decorated with engravings, late 19th century.
A rare example of Russian hunting weapon.
The blade is steel, straight, monocotyledonous, double-edged, with a spear-shaped combat end. There is etching on the blade. Framed by a stylized floral ornament on one side of the blade, a floral ornament on the other: Zlatoust framed by a stylized floral ornament. The handle is made of ebony, rectangular in cross-section. The lower tip with a rim, two balls and the head of the handle in the shape of a trefoil are metal, decorated with floral and geometric patterns. The scabbard is covered with brown velvet, has upper and lower metal figured tips and a figured membrane on the front side. The metal scabbard device is decorated with images of wild animals in the forest, scenes from hunting life and is ornamented with stylized flowers and herbs and is also signed Zlatoust.
